On 29th May 2015 Law no. 68/2015, concerning “Provisions on crimes against the environment”, came into force. The Law inserts into Italian Penal Code a new Title specifically devoted to the crimes against the environment (Title VI bis), within which five new offences (environmental pollution, environmental disaster, traffic and abandonment of radioactive material, bar of control and concealed confiscation) are introduced, according to which the convict is bound to recover and, where possible, to restore the conditions of the premises. The Law also amends Italian Environment Code and introduces procedural provisions in order to give efficiency to the assessment and repression of the mentioned crimes.
