On 13 and 14 May 2019, the “Blue Economy Summit – II edition” will be held in Genoa. Studio Legale Mordiglia has been a sponsor of this event since its first edition (www.besummit.it ). During the session “Technological evolution: development of open innovation and start up paths” on Tuesday, May 14, in the Hall of Representation of Palazzo Tursi, Marco Lopez de Gonzalo will give a lecture on “Maritime law and technological evolution: the case of autonomous ships”.
On 19th September 2018, Mirko Scapinello and Filippo Pellerano gave a lecture during the master degree course on marine and transport insurance (MASMET) organized by the Genoa University in cooperation with various operators and practitioners in the shipping market. The lesson, which has taken place at P. L Ferrai & Co. premises in Genoa, focused on the interactions between the insurance covers in the context of big casualties like the Costa Concordia and the Norman Atlantic.
On 4 December 2017, Karl Depypere, from Antwerp (Belgium) started a two weeks visit at Studio Legale Mordiglia in the Genoa offices. Karl is an attorney at Roosendaal Keyzer, a Belgian law firm with a long standing relationship with Studio Legale Mordiglia. During his visit, he was involved in some cases and had the chance to familiarise himself with Italian procedure. He got aquainted with the way Italian law firms and the Genovese shipping market work and hosted a seminar titled “The Flinterstar – First steps in handling a Belgian Collision case”.
On 2 – 3 November 2017, the twenty-third EMLO (European Maritime Law Organization) annual conference (“Global Alliances: Policy considerations, Brexit and Competition Law”) will be held in Hamburg at CARLS an der Elbphilharmonie and NRV Yacht Club. On 2 – 3 February 2017, the first edition of the conference “Shipping, Forwarding & Logistic meet Industry – Logistics and maritime cluster at service of the Italian system” will be held in Milan at Assolombarda Congress Center. Marco Lopez de Gonzalo, with a presentation on damages by transport delay, and Marco Lenti, with a presentation on the logistical issues arising out of e-commerce, will attend the conference as speakers. On 22nd November 2016, ANIMP (National Association of Industrial Plant Engineering) organised a seminar entitled “…… and 10: yesterday, today and tomorrow” in San Donato Milanese (MI).
